Amendola Sends Tigers to Quarterfinals of American Athletic Conference Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a two-and-a-half-hour match, senior Alice Amendola secured the match point for the Tigers to send them to the next round of the American Athletic Conference Championship.

South Florida came away with the doubles point to get on the board, Memphis collected wins from Sofia Mykhailets, Emily Meyerand Leonie Moeller to take a 3-1 lead in the match. The Bulls strung together wins on courts three and six to tie the match up before Amendola won the final match point on court five to send the Tigers to the Quarterfinals tomorrow.

No. 6 Memphis will face off against third-ranked Charlotte tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at Leftwich Tennis Center.
