BOCA RATON, Fla. – Memphis (17-32, 4-19 AAC) softball fell by a score of 7-2 against RV Florida Atlantic (40-9, 19-4 AAC) Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Florida Atlantic continued its strong hitting from game one by putting up four runs in the first inning.
- Kylie Channell brought Kylie Hammonds home with a single to left field, aided by a throwing error.
- Channell scored on a passed ball in the next at-bat.
- Clara Gibson's two-run home run gave FAU a four-run lead.
Starting pitcher Rylee Dugar rebounded with a strong second inning, keeping FAU scoreless in the frame.
- It was the first time in the series that the Owls failed to score a run in an inning.
FAU added a run in the third inning off a Kiley Shelton sacrifice fly.
Kayla Clement notched her first career double as a Memphis Tiger but was stranded in the top of the fifth inning.
After Rylee Dugar's third scoreless frame, Zoe Adebayo stepped in and slugged her 10th home run of the season over the left-center wall.
- Adebayo becomes just the fifth player in program history with 10 or more home runs in a single season.
Two runs came across in the bottom of the sixth for FAU on a two-RBI single just out of the reach of a leaping Ariel Davis.
Ainsley Lambert completed her fourth inning of the game by striking out the side in the top of the seventh inning.
- Lambert finished with seven strikeouts, striking out the side swinging in both the third and seventh innings.

NOTABLES

Rylee Dugar threw a complete game in the loss, moving to 5-10 on the year.
The Tigers were retired 12 times by strikeouts, the highest mark this season.
All of Memphis' three runs in the series have come off home runs.
Kennedy Semien finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a double and a walk.
- The double was her 10th of the season, tying her with Zoe Adebayo for the team lead.
Zoe Adebayo tallied her 10th home run of the season.
- She becomes the fifth player in program history with 10 or more home runs in a season and records the sixth season within that category.
- She has the most home runs in a season for a Tiger since 2011.
Arianna Cox-Cole went 1-for-3 with a single in the contest.
Kayla Clement had one hit in the game, which was her first double as a member of the Memphis Tigers.
Jericho Tate logged her first career plate appearance, earning a start as the designated player.
