Mustangs score in the 103rd minute of overtime to defeat the Tigers

DALLAS, Texas. – The Memphis Tigers went toe-to-toe with No. 17 SMU and came up just short in a 1-0 double overtime heartbreaker on the road Saturday. Memphis falls to 2-7-3 overall and 1-2-1 in American Athletic Conference play.

"The difference in the match was that we were unable to take advantage of opportunities and they were," said head coach Richard Mulrooney. "We have to be able to finish chances."

The Tigers finished the match with nine shots, four of which were on goal.

Memphis and SMU remained scoreless through regulation and one overtime period before the Mustangs scored the game-winning goal in the 103^rd minute of the contest. In all, SMU was allowed just three shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Jake Leeker recorded two saves for the Tigers including one in the 95^th minute. David Zalzman, Jackson Morse, and Luke Biasi all recorded two shots each for Memphis.
