Men’s Soccer Welcomes Temple This Saturday

The lone match of the weekend for the Tigers is Saturday at 7 p.m.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The University of Memphis men's soccer team resumes conference play this Saturday against Temple at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. Kick-off against the Owls is slated for 7 p.m. This is the first home contest for the Tigers since Sept. 2 against Kentucky.
MATCH INFORMATION:
The Tigers finished the five-match road swing with a 2-2-1 record including the conference opening victory over Cincinnati on Sept. 23. It was the first-time head coach Richard Mulrooney and the Tigers had defeated Cincinnati as well as opening the conference season with a victory.
Chris Mikus was tabbed the AAC Rookie of the Week and Ben Roberts as added to the Weekly Honor Roll after the win at Cincinnati. Prior to the win over the Bearcats, the Tigers were coming off of a tie at UMKC and a win at Missouri State.
A Look At Temple
Temple enters into Saturday's match with a 3-5-1 overall record after defeating Penn State by a score of 3-0 Wednesday evening. The Owls are winless in conference play at 0-1-0 with its only match being a 2-0 setback to UConn on Sept. 23.
Temple found themselves unable to put a shot in the net, despite having twice as many shots as the Huskies, outshooting them 14-7.
Temple is helmed by head coach David MacWilliams who is in his 18th season. Five players have scored for MacWilliams' squad in 2017, with two players scoring twice on the year. Goalkeeper Alex Cagle has recorded 12 saves on 58 shots faced.
