No. 23 Tigers, Commodores Clash Saturday Afternoon on CBS
Dec 22, 2023 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Riding the momentum of another marquee win, the No. 23 Memphis Tigers go for a fifth-straight victory Saturday afternoon at FedExForum against Vanderbilt. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game will be televised on CBS.
A win Saturday would make Memphis 4-0 against the Commodores in the last four meetings, which would be its best stretch in series history.
Memphis (9-2) took down No. 22 Virginia in commanding fashion Tuesday night at FedExForum and against the Commodores the Tigers have a chance to pick up their third win over a power conference program in eight days.
The Commodores enter the game with a 4-7 record and have not picked up a victory since Dec. 2 against Alabama A&M.
Saturday's game is an opportunity for the Tigers to get to seven wins against Power Five opponents this season and claim their fourth victory over an SEC foe.
Memphis has two Quad I wins so far this season (Clemson, Virginia) and have played two other Quad I contests (Villanova, Ole Miss).
The Tigers were 4-5 in Quad I games a season ago.
Only two teams in the country have a combined seven Quad I and Quad II victories this season (Memphis, No. 1 Purdue).
