The Tigers Take Down Trojans 3-1

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tigers pick up a win to close out the Beale Street Challenge with a 3-1 win over Little Rock on Saturday afternoon. Memphis rebounded from the first two matches, hitting .241 on the match, with 58 kills, 57 digs, nine aces and eight blocks. Autumn Flynn led the Tigers hitting a .450 clip, recording 11 kills with six blocks.
"Great to get back in the win column. After the first set we made some adjustments, and had numerous players step up." Head coach Sean Burdette remarked. "Catalina Martinez ran a very effective offense and Alexis Lewis was able to score us points at the net both hitting and blocking. It was really a team effort with four players in double digit kills, and Madison having a very good match at the net. The team serving was better and was able to take [Little Rock] out of system."
Memphis 3, Little Rock 1
· Little Rock got off to a quick start, taking the lead early in the first set. Hannah Jones stops littles rocks 5-0 lead with big kill.
· After attack error from Little Rock and a momentum shift the Tigers forced a Trojan timeout.
· Little Rock goes on a 4-0 run from server 14 forcing Memphis to call a timeout. The Trojans take the first set after a huge block.
· Memphis brings energy early after a big kill from Madison Rice-Locket starting their first lead of the game.
· The Tigers go on a 9-3 run forcing two Trojans timeouts. Memphis capitalized on Little Rocks' attacking errors.
· Rylee Busse responds to Trojan's timeout with a killer ace. The Tigers take Set 2 after a set-point kill by Rice-Locket then Jones finishes it off.
· Memphis and Little Rock go point for the point towards the middle of set three with the Tigers holding a slight lead.
· After a Tiger 4-0 run Alexis Lewis serves Little Rock with an ace forcing a Trojan timeout
· Rice-Locket continues the Tiger's lead with a kill forcing yet another timeout from Little Rock. Jones finishes off Set Three with a kill allowing Memphis to win the set.
· Tigers started off strong with Lewis taking the first point and kill of the set, along with three blocks in a row forcing Little Rock to call a timeout.
· Tigers go on a 7-0 run then bring more energy with dive after dive and kill after kill going on 5-0 run forcing Trojan timeout. Memphis takes the set and match after Little Rock serves error.

· Four Tigers hit double digits: Jones and Rice-Locket leading with 12, Flynn with 11, and Tabytha Toelke with 10 apiece.
· Two Tigers hit over a .400 clip; Flynn (.450) and Rice-Locket with (.429)
