Tigers Continue Unbeaten Streak with Draw at Temple

PHILADELPHIA – Tigers men's soccer continues its unbeaten streak with a 0-0 draw against Temple Saturday night. With the result, Memphis has ten points and sits atop the standings in the American Athletic Conference. The series with the Owls remains level at 6-6-3.
With the draw, Memphis moves to 6-4-2 overall and 3-0-1 in league play and Temple sits at 2-6-4 and 0-2-2.
This seven-match unbeaten streak is the longest since the 2004 season when the Tigers were unbeaten in nine straight matches, which included winning the Conference USA championship.

KEY MOMENTS
- 29' – After Luciano Galizzi was fouled in the box, Giorgios Kondylis would have his penalty shot saved by Andrew Kempe of Temple.
- 58' – Temple had a free man in the box and Alejandro Padilla tackled the Owl attacker. After VAR review, the call on the field was confirmed, eliminating a possible penalty shot for Temple.
- 71' – After Filip Sabatti attempted to sweep a Temple attack attempt wide, Edgar Bazan found himself with a wide-open net before Logan Longo appeared and was able to stop the attempt.
- 84' – Temple had the best chance in the closing minutes, at Elliot Rigbert was open in front of the goal and sailed his shot high.
- 86' – Sebastian Schmalbach slipped past a Temple defender for Memphis' best chance with less than five minutes remaining, firing his shot wide.
- The Tigers outpaced the Owls in both shots and corners in the first half with seven shots and eight corners compared to Temple's one shot and three corners.
- The penalty attempt from Kondylis was the first penalty shot taken by Memphis this season.
- Memphis failed to record a shot on target in the second half.
- Sabatti continued his streak of four straight clean sheets with four saves and moved to 6-2-2 on the season.
- Temple was awarded three yellow cards. Two cards were assessed to the Temple bench and a card was also given to Kemali Green.
- Alejandro Padilla received the lone yellow card for Memphis.
