MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 13 University of Memphis rifle team fell at home to No. 7 Murray State, 4717-4708, Saturday at R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range. The Tigers (4-7) won air rifle, 2375-2371, but got edged out by the Racers (5-3) in smallbore, 2346-2333.

KEY MOMENTS

Kenlee Ewton led the way for the Tigers on Saturday, finishing second overall with an aggregate score of 1184. It's the fifth top-3 finish of the season for Ewton.
- Ewton posted the second-best smallbore total of the day at 590 (season high) and the fifth-best air rifle at 594.
Sophia Cruz picked up her best finish of the season – third overall – behind a career best 1178 aggregate score.
- She won air rifle with a school record-tying 598, and placed eighth in smallbore with a 581.
won smallbore with a score of 587 and took second in air rifle with a total of 596.
Gabriela Zych posted an 1176 aggregate score to give her a fifth-place finish.
- Zych was fourth in smallbore (587) and 11^th in air rifle (589).
Gabby Ayers (1175 aggregate) placed sixth overall, while Sam Sparrow finished ninth (1167 aggregate) and Maisyn Douglas finished 10^th (1164).

The Tigers posted their third-best team aggregate (4708) and air rifle (2375) scores of the season, and their fourth-best smallbore (2333) total.
Ayers posted career highs with a 580 in smallbore and 1175 aggregate.
Sparrow registered career highs in air rifle (590) and aggregate (1167).
Douglas recorded her career-best totals in smallbore (577) and aggregate (1164).
Chase Trammell finished with career highs in air rifle (589) and aggregate (1160).
