McIntyre Named American Conference Weekly Honorable Mention

IRVING, Texas – After logging his first goal and assist as a Tiger in the same match, Eben McIntyre was named a weekly honorable mention by the American Conference, per a league release Monday afternoon.
McIntyre entered last Thursday's match against Mercer without a single point in his first season at Memphis. In the 34th minute of the match, McIntyre brought down a cross from Adam Aboohamidi and held off multiple defenders before finding the back of the net for what was eventually the game-winning goal. In the second half, McIntyre assisted on a goal by Saad Chaouki that gave the Tigers a two-goal lead that would hold until full time.
So far this season, the redshirt junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. has started in three of Memphis' four matches, logging 247 minutes in an attacking role. He has primarily worked in an attacking partnership with Luciano Galizzi, who also has one goal and one assist on the season.

The Tigers play two nonconference matches against programs from the state of Florida during the coming week. First, Memphis will play host to FGCU on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to the Sunshine State to take on Jacksonville on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 6:00 p.m. CT. Memphis' match against FGCU will be broadcast on ESPN+ and broadcast details for Sunday's match at Jacksonville are yet to be determined.
