Breidenbach Named to Allstate NACDA Good Works Team
Aug 26, 2025 | Men's Soccer
NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Memphis men's soccer student-athlete Dominic Breidenbach was announced as a member of the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team, an initiative that recognizes and honors student-athletes who demonstrate levels of volunteerism and civic engagement that are above and beyond their success and achievements in the classroom and competition.
"I'm honored to be one of the twenty athletes nationally recognizes across the NCAA for my work within the community," said Breidenbach. "Whether it's working alongside kids with disabilities, dogs at the humane society or with Cancer Kickers, making a difference in the Memphis community always feels good. I think Coach McManus's help and encouragement cannot go unnoticed. He is always in the community himself so having him as a role model is something that drives us as a team to go out in the community and make a difference. Nevertheless, I'm extremely honored and grateful to be recognized. There's still plenty of time while I'm at Memphis playing and getting my degree to continue to volunteer and be active in the community to make a difference."
Breidenbach has volunteered with multiple organizations in the Memphis area, including working as a liaison with Cancer Kickers, partnering with local hospitals to write letters to groups and highlight them throughout the year. He also has served as the Head of Community Service with Memphis SAAC, overseeing department goals and events while leading and organizing teams working in the community. He also helps organize team visits and department events for the local Humane Society. Additionally, Breidenbach visits the local Ronald McDonald House to spend time with residents.
"Dominic has been a leader in the Memphis community," said Destin Gilbert, director of student-athlete development. "His passion and leadership have contributed to a 200 percent increase in community service hours for his team and his voice as the SAAC Chair for Community Service has elevated the department to a new high. With Dominic leading our efforts, I believe we can reach our goals for this year and beyond."
"I'm very proud of Dominic for the work that he is not only putting in on the field, but off of it as well," head coach Richard Mulrooney said. "He has represented our university out in the community to the highest standard and I am happy he is being recognized for it."
So far this season, Breidenbach has appeared in both contests and has four total matches played in his two years as a Tiger. He was recently named to the 2024-25 American Conference All-Academic Team. He spent 2022-23 at what is now known as IU Indy, logging over 2,800 minutes played and six assists in 37 matches as a Jaguar. He also garnered honors on the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
